Biography
Dr. Laura J. Lefkowitz graduated from SUNY-Stony Brook School Of Medicine in 2002, where she received her M.D. with honors in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Psychiatry, Internal Medicine, and Radiology.
Her internship in Internal Medicine and Psychiatry at Saint Vincent's Medical Center in Manhattan involved intense training in general and HIV/AIDS related diseases. Dr. Lefkowitz then pursued training in Radiation Oncology at SUNY- Brooklyn Medical Center.
Dr. Lefkowitz's interests then shifted from treating disease in the traditional sense and refocused her attention to prevention and treatment through nutrition and self care. She attended Columbia University's Institute for Integrative Nutrition where she has studied many different dietary theories and complementary treatments to traditional medicine.
Since 2007, Dr. Lefkowitz has been seeing patients in her Union Square office where she works with your treating physicians to assure that your weight loss and nutrition needs are best suited for your personal goals.
